Since the days of his collegiate career at the University of Washington, Mariners minor league outfielder Braden Bishop has written the phase on his cleats and his forearm before each of his games — 4MOM.
Bishop does so in honor of his mother, Suzy, who diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s in 2014. Since then, Bishop has founded the 4MOM Charity to raise money — and awareness — for Alzheimer’s research.
This past Spring Training, Bishop pledged $10 for every single, $20 for every double, $30 for every triple and $40 for every home run he hit during a Cactus League game to be donated to 4MOM.
