Bogar, Stottlemyre Jr. added to Mariners' staff

The Mariners on Monday announced two additions to new manager Scott Servais' coaching staff.

As expected, Tim Bogar, who this season worked alongside Servais in the Angels' front office, becomes the bench coach. Former big league pitcher Mel Stottlemyre Jr. takes over as pitching coach following 13 seasons in Arizona's organization, the last two as the Diamondbacks' bullpen coach.

Seattle GM Jerry Dipoto and Servais also confirmed the retention of two coaches from dismissed manager Lloyd McClendon's staff. Former Mariners great Edgar Martinez will return as hitting coach, while Chris Woodward stays on as first-base coach.
