Mariners Hall of Fame catcher Dan Wilson is used to wearing a mask at the ballpark, and Monday was no exception.
Wilson and his wife, Annie, face masks in place to protect against the COVID-19 virus, were among the first donors at a special Bloodworks Northwest pop-up blood drive at T-Mobile Park.
The drive, which was announced last week, was to have lasted three weeks. But all 555 donor appointments were booked up within a matter of days, so it was decided to extend the drives through the month of May.
For Dan, deciding to donate blood during this national emergency was an easy yes, considering what health care professionals are facing every day.
