Meg Tomlinson, who bought tickets to Saturday’s Seattle Mariners vs. Minnesota Twins game to celebrate her father’s birthday, is the 50 millionth fan to pass through the gates of T-Mobile Park.
Tomlinson, who is from Bellevue, says she and her father, Jim, come to a few games a season, (“it’s kind of our thing,” she said). She gave him the tickets as a birthday present. Instead, Meg was at the center of a celebration inside the Home Plate Gate at approximately 5:45 p.m.
As a cannon sent a shower of blue and white confetti into the air, Mariners pitcher Félix Hernández greeted Meg the good news, posed for photos and autographed a baseball for her.
