BIDDEFORD, Maine (AP) — When it comes to auctions, America’s favorite pastime apparently trumps Hollywood.
The Maine auction house that’s putting items that once belonged to New York TV personality Joe Franklin up for bid says the greatest interest is in a baseball glove that belonged to Babe Ruth.
Troy Thibodeau from Saco River Auction says bidder inquiries in the baseball glove far outpace interest other items.
The auction of celebrity memorabilia items takes place this Saturday in Biddeford. In addition to Ruth’s glove, other items include Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse ears and John Wayne’s Stetson cowboy hat.
