WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) —
As Philadelphia welcomed politicians, delegates and tourists alike to the Democratic National Convention, the city had already been playing host to some unlikely visitors -- 57 painted fiberglass donkeys.
The donkeys were created by Philadelphia artists. The art installations, called "The Donkeys Around Town,” are scattered throughout the city for people to search for scavenger-hunt style.
There are donkeys for every state and territory, one for the District of Columbia and one representing Americans abroad.
"The idea is to draw you in and get you to see some things you might not have otherwise seen," Steve Horton, a convention volunteer said of the donkeys.
