FILE - In this June 29, 2019, file photo, Seattle Mariners' Tim Beckham runs the bases after hitting a two-run home run against the Houston Astros during the second inning of a baseball game, in Houston.
The Mariners have had a rough 2019. Since a white-hot start came to a screeching halt, Seattle has fallen out of MLB relevance and playoff contention for the 19th consecutive year. With almost two full months left in the season, the Ms are 10 games under .500 and sitting dead-last in the AL West.
If you thought things couldn't get any worse though, tough luck: Tuesday morning, the MLB announced that Mariners utility player Tim Beckham had been suspended for 80 games after a test came back positive for a performance enhancing substance.
