There’s a new look to the Dave Niehaus Broadcast Center at Safeco Field this season. Recently-installed photos, graphics and artifacts pay tribute to Mariners broadcasters throughout the club’s history, particularly Hall of Famer Dave Niehaus.
The entrance now features two displays that chronicle Niehaus’ 34-year career as the Voice of the Mariners. Framed by large photos of two milestone moments in Dave’s career — throwing out the ceremonial first pitch on Opening Night at Safeco Field in 1999 and accepting the Ford C. Frick Award at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in 2008 — the displays house artifacts from his broadcasting career.
