Major League Baseball announced yesterday the 60-game 2020 schedule for each club. The Mariners will open the season on July 24 against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
Of the Mariners 60 games this season, 40 will be played against American League West opponents and 20 will be against National League West foes. In an effort to minimize travel this season, each club is playing only opponents in its respective division and the corresponding division in the other league (West vs. West, Central vs. Central, East vs. East).
The 60-game slate will bring an added sense of urgency and intensity to the 2020 season as each game will carry more weight in the overall schedule.
