This might come as a shock: the Mariners’ lineup over the past few days has been rough. While it obviously hasn’t helped that the Mariners were playing in a National League ballpark and Justin Dunn, Justus Sheffield, and Chris Flexen had to hit, it’s not like the Mariners had a particularly compelling designated hitter waiting in the wings to bat for those guys.
Well, Ty France is back today. The Mariners will be hoping he bats like he did pre-getting hit in the arm with a 98 MPH fastball. It would be hard for him to hit much worse than he did post-injury.
