Last night’s game was maybe a winnable one for the Mariners if not for Ljay Newsome surrendering eight runs in the first two innings. Now the Mariners face a taller task in needing to best Dylan Bundy, the Angels’ best starter, in order to come away with a series win. Per Jake’s series preview, this isn’t a game the Mariners are favored to win—they weren’t favored to win any of the games—but the odds are a lot closer than I thought they might be given how dominant Bundy has looked against better-hitting Mariners teams than this one at times.
