After a brutal last couple weeks, the call-ups of J.P. Crawford and Shed Long have breathed new excitement into the 2019 Mariners. Alas, only one of them is starting tonight:
With the right-handed Rick Porcello going tomorrow for the Red Sox, though, it seems highly likely that Shed will make his Major League debut then. The Mariners are running out a righty-heavy lineup today, with Crawford and Jay Bruce the lone southpaws. Erik Swanson is coming off his first big-league win, and will look to contain a potent Boston lineup.
