In an off-season with obvious needs or question marks at both second base and third base, one addition to the Seattle Mariners roster was Donovan Solano, who in January signed a one year major league deal with the club. A little surprising to some at the time, Solano was brought on not to work the keystone or the hot corner, but rather to be the short side platoon to Luke Raley at first base. On Baseball Savant, Solano is listed as a third baseman, and on Fangraphs he is listed as a second baseman. On baseball reference he is listed as a second baseman first, a first baseman second, and a third baseman last.
