Dave Niehaus and Ken Griffey Jr. shared a unique friendship, a bond forged over years spent together as each compiled their respective Hall of Fame careers. Niehaus provided the soundtrack for many of Junior’s most memorable moments in a Mariners uniform, from his home run on the first pitch he saw in the Kingdome to his sprint around the bases in game 5 of the ’95 American League Division Series to his “old-time religion” home run and so many others.
