While most of Seattle was asleep, the Mariners wrapped up their 2-game exhibition series against the Yomiuri Giants with a 6–5 win on Monday night at the Tokyo Dome. The Mariners and Giants got underway just after 7:00 pm Monday night in Tokyo — or as it’s known in Seattle, 3:00 am Monday morning.
The Mariners plated 3 runs in the 4th inning on doubles from Omar Narváez and Tim Beckham, but trailed 5–3 after 4 full innings. In the 7th inning, Mitch Haniger connected for his second home run in as many days to even the score at 5–5.
