An update from the Seattle Mariners on the injury to outfielder Victor Robles shed some hopeful light on the Dominican’s recovery timetable. The club identified a “small fracture in the humeral head” of his left (non-throwing) shoulder, a fracture that is expected to heal naturally with rest and care over around six weeks. Following that timeframe, Robles would be able to resume normal activities once fully healed, affording approximately an equal amount of time towards rehabilitation of the injured arm and re-integration into baseball activities. All told, a 12 week absence would be best case for Robles to return to the field, leaving the M’s without their starting right fielder until around the start of July.
