SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara women’s water polo team ended their weekend at the Tina Finali Invitational with a final record of 2-2 after beating tournament host Cal Lutheran Sunday morning 12-5 and losing a close contest to Pomona-Pitzer 7-6.
Santa Clara’s overall record moves to 4-7 after a long stretch on the road.
Elle Surber continued her hot streak Sunday morning, scoring three goals against Cal Lutheran. The Broncos came out strong in the first quarter with three goals while keeping the Regals to just one. After taking a 5-2 lead into halftime, Santa Clara sealed the win with five more goals in the third and took the win with a final score of 12-5.
