SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara women's water polo team fell short against Golden Coast Conference (GCC) leader No. 18 San Diego State Friday afternoon with a final score of 9-3. The contest against the Aztecs was the first of two this weekend, with the second coming Saturday at noon against Cal Baptist.
The loss moves the Broncos to 8-12 overall and 1-2 in GCC play.
"I think we played really good defensively for most of the game," said Head Coach Keith Wilbur. "I think we need to have a more active offense where all six players are a threat which is key for us.
