SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Nevada saved four match points to clinch the doubles point and carried that momentum to defeat Santa Clara women's tennis 4-0 in the Broncos season opener on Friday afternoon at the Degheri Tennis Center.
Dasee Carter and Varya Zlotnik had a strong showing to defeat Mathilde Sarcelet and Audrey Moutama, 6-2, to open things for the Broncos before Nevada took the next two doubles matches.
The Broncos (0-1) lost the doubles point in a tightly contested battle on court one. The Santa Clara tandem of JennaMarie Gordon and Giulia Hayer were unable to convert on the match point opportunities as Amahee Charrier and Wiem Boubaker overcame them to pull out a 7-6 (9-7) win to clinch the team point for the Wolf Pack.
