SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After finishing its most successful nonconference season since its 2001 national championship season, Santa Clara women's soccer moved into the top-five in the United Soccer Coaches poll Tuesday.
The Broncos moved up to No. 4 in the nation from sixth after blowing out Cal Poly 5-1 Friday and going in the road to pick up a 2-0 win at UC Santa Barbara Sunday. The wins gave Santa Clara a six match unbeaten streak (5-0-1) and put its record at 9-1-1. In 2001, the Broncos finished nonconference play 10-1.
