SANTA CLARA, Calif. – No. 9 Santa Clara women's soccer got an early goal but was a little out of sync on offense and fell to No. 17 BYU 2-1 Wednesday night at home in a nonconference match.
The Cougars (9-3-1, 5-1 WCC) responded to the early deficit and found the equalizer in the 11th minute when Mikayla Colohan knocked in a rebound.
BYU kept the momentum going on offense, creating more dangerous chances through the 90 minutes, and got the winner in the 57th when Cameron Tucker ran down a ball and was able to beat Broncos (5-1, 5-0 WCC) keeper Marlee Nicolos.
