ANACONDA, Mont. – Santa Clara women's golf shot a second-round low 3-over 291 to move into third place after the opening day of the Battle at Old Works, contested on the 6,456-yard, par 72 Old Works Golf Club. The Broncos climbed two spots on the team leaderboard after an opening round 300 and are seven shots off the lead heading into Tuesday's final round.
Santa Clara's second-round score was its lowest since carding a 290 last October at the Lady Mustang Invitational. The Broncos went on to claim the team title at that event. They trail second-round leader North Dakota State by seven shots and are three strokes behind Cal State Northridge for second.
