SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball held San Diego State to a season-low offensive output in a 48-34 victory on the road Thursday evening.
The Broncos (4-5) played suffocating defense, allowing the Aztecs (6-4), who entered the night scoring 69.8 points per game and knocking down 9.3 3-pointers per contest, to shoot just 22-percent from the field and go 3-for-28 from beyond the arc.
San Diego State had not been held under 10 points in a quarter all year but Santa Clara did it three times by allowing nine points in the first, eight in the third, and seven in the fourth.
