LOS ANGELES – Santa Clara women's basketball won a thriller on the road, beating LMU 62-61 in the final seconds Saturday afternoon.
It was the Lindsey VanAllen show in the fourth quarter as she scored 12 of the Broncos' (12-11, 6-7 WCC) 15 points in the quarter, including two free throws with two seconds on the clock that proved to be the difference in the game.
The Lions (8-15, 3-10 WCC), who trailed almost the entire way, finally evened the score by scoring the first six points of the fourth and would take the lead twice in the period, including at the 24 second mark following a 3-pointer from Jasmine Jones and jumper from Ariel Johnson that made the score 61-60.
