SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball cruised to an 88-30 win over Holy Names Monday to close nonconference play. It was tied for the sixth largest win in program history and was the third biggest in Leavey Center.
The Broncos (6-4) took control early and the game was never in doubt, even when the Hawks (0-11) put together some nice stretches on offense in the second half.
Santa Clara dominated in every aspect, shooting 47.4-percent from the field while holding Holy Names to just 25.7-percent. The Broncos forced 33 turnovers while committing 10 and had a 49-5 edge in points off turnovers.
