Santa Clara’s spirit club (almost) turns 20

During their trip to San Diego in 2001, the Ruff Riders cheered at the top of their lungs in support of Santa Clara Men’s Basketball team at the West Coast Conference championship where they faced off against
Gonzaga. Founded only two years prior, Kevin McDonough (founder) and Chris Helin (vice president) sought to bring school spirit to the forefront of students’ attention. Today, the club aims to promote school pride.
