LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Santa Clara softball player Ashley Trierweiler was named All-American for the second-straight day, this time by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) as a third-team selection.
Trierweiler is the first NFCA All-American in program history, a day after being recognized with second-team All-American honors by D1Softball.
Established in 1983, the NFCA is the professional growth organization for fastpitch softball coaches from all competitive levels of play comprised of over 6,700 members from all 50 states and several international countries. The All-American teams were voted by the Association's Division I All-America Committee.
