DAVIS, Calif. - Hannah Edwards tossed a two-hit shutout in Santa Clara softball's 3-0 season opening win over UC Davis on Friday afternoon at La Rue Field.
Edwards dominated the Aggies lineup allowing just three base runners on two singles and a hit batsman as none of them reached third base. The redshirt freshman struck out four to record her second career shutout.
The game was a pitcher's duel between Edwards and Aggies (0-1) hurler Kenedi Brown through the first five innings as the teams combined for just three total hits.
