SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Regan Dias carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning and the offense stayed hot as Santa Clara softball completed a weekend sweep of San Diego with a 7-3 victory Sunday afternoon on the road.
The Broncos (15-32, 7-5 WCC) jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first and added on with another in the second before a three-run fourth created some distance.
Dias (9-8) no-hit the Toreros (19-27, 3-9 WCC) for 4 2/3 innings before finally surrendering a hit that also broke up the shutout. Dias ended up going 6 1/3 innings to get the win while allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits with four walks and a strikeout.
