LONG BEACH, Calif. – Scoring over 300 in the first two rounds, Santa Clara women's golf holds down ninth-place with a 611 team total after the first day of play at The Gold Rush.
The Broncos are only 12 shots out of the top-5 and will attempt to make up ground in tomorrow's final round, which is scheduled to get underway at 7:45 a.m. on the 6,189-yard, par-72 El Dorado Park Golf Course.
Competing in their first event of the spring season, the Broncos were consistent, scoring a first-round 306 and a second-round 305. They trail second-round leader Georgia by 20 shots and are only 12 strokes behind host Long Beach State, UC Irvine and Sacramento State, who all ended the day tied for fourth.
