Athletics announces Keating’s departure after nine years of coaching

Head Men’s Basketball Coach Kerry Keating received a multi-year contract extension in 2013, but will not be returning to Santa Clara next year after nine years of coaching. According to public records, his base salary was $371,662 between July 3013 and June 2014.

After nine seasons as head coach of the Santa Clara men’s basketball team, Kerry Keating will not return to the university next season.

Athletic Director Renee Baumgartner made the announcement Monday morning on the heels of the team’s first round exit in the WCC tournament.
