SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis was recognized by the West Coast Conference on Tuesday when junior Maddie Pothoff was named the WCC Women's Singles Player of the Week.
On Thursday, Pothoff beat Stanford's Michaela Gordon, who entered the match ranked No. 22, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (11) on court one.
The Tucson, Arizona native, boasts a 7-1 record this spring including starting the dual match season with six consecutive wins.
It is the first such honor for Pothoff.
The Broncos next play on March 23 against Pacific.
