SANTA CLARA, Calif. – No. 25 Santa Clara women's soccer posted a hard-earned 1-0 win over No. 11 BYU on Saturday afternoon at home to move into a first place tie atop of the West Coast Conference standings.
After a brutal back-and-forth through the first 73 minutes, the Broncos (9-5-2, 6-1 WCC) finally broke through in the 74th on the ninth of the year from Kelsey Turnbow. The Cougars (11-4-1, 6-1 WCC) gave it all they had over the final 15 minutes, pushing forward, but the Santa Clara defense stood tall and kept the lead.
