SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Santa Clara track & field added to its strong academic profile on Thursday morning. Both the men's and women's squads were named 2017-18 USTFCCCA NCAA Division I Track & Field All-Academic Teams.
Each team posted a 3.4 cumulative GPA for the 2017-18 academic year. Teams must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA to be eligible for the award.
SCU's successful indoor and outdoor spring campaigns included three school records and 15 new marks on the program's Top 10 lists. Individually, Joey Berriatua qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
