WASHINGTON - Santa Clara men's soccer went toe to toe with the No. 2-ranked Georgetown Hoyas on the road but was edged 1-0 on Kieran Sargent's second half goal on Monday afternoon at Shaw Field.
In the 59th minute, Sargent cleaned up a loose ball on a scramble in front of the goal and found the back of the net past Broncos goalkeeper Andreu Cases Mundet on the near post.
The win was the Hoyas' (4-0) fourth-straight to open the season while the loss was the first for the Broncos (3-1) on the year.
