FAIRFAX, Calif. – Santa Clara men's golf continued its hot start to the season with identical rounds of 274 to complete the first day of competition at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational in third-place at 20-under 548, nine-shots behind leader and tournament host California.
"I can't complain about being in third-place in a field like this," head coach Rob Miller said. "This is Cal's home course so I'm not surprised to be nine-strokes behind them. They will be tough to beat."
The Golden Bears scored the two best rounds of the day for a 29-under 539 total.
