EUGENE, Ore. – Getting contributions from its entire roster, Santa Clara men's golf took a 1-shot lead after two rounds of the Duck Invitational with a 579 team total, one-shot better than the Northwest schools host Oregon and Oregon State, and Liberty.
"It's nice to be at the top even if it is just by one shot," head coach Rob Miller said. "It was a good day for the guys. I think some of the momentum we built carried over from Bandon."
Sophomore Matt McCarty scored a first-round 3-under 68, but his second-round 76 wasn't even counted in the team score.
