SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's basketball started the new year where it left off in 2018, winning its sixth straight game by downing San Diego, 68-56, in the West Coast Conference opener behind Tahj Eaddy's career-high 30 points.
The Broncos (9-6, 1-0) picked up its eighth win in the last nine games thanks to a dominating scoring effort by Eaddy who single-handedly outscored the Toreros (11-5, 0-1) in the first half. The sophomore had 21 points at the half, to help the Broncos race to a 35-18 lead. For the game, Eaddy shot 8 of 16 from the floor and a perfect 12 of 12 from the line.
