SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball guaranteed it would be the home team in its first round matchup at the West Coast Conference Tournament with a 12-1 win over Gonzaga Friday night. A third or fourth seed is in play depending on the results of tomorrow's games.
A night after scoring four in the ninth to win in walkoff fashion and clinch its spot in the WCC Tournament, the Broncos (30-18, 16-10 WCC) made things much less stressful. They scored three runs in the first and continued to add on throughout the night, powered by four home runs to set a new single season program record.
