PALM DESERT, Calif. – Senior Annie Freman finished up the first day of competition at the Wyoming Cowgirl Intercollegiate with a two-round total of 6-under 138 to enter the clubhouse with a four-shot lead and helping Santa Clara women's golf to a three-shot lead over Hawai'I on the team leaderboard.
Freman was tied for the individual lead after a first-round 2-under 70 and broke away over the next 18 holes with a 4-under 68. She enters Sunday's final round with the advantage over Southern Utah's Kamonwan Prasurtwong. The two are the only golfers in the 69-player field to complete the first 36 holes under par.
