SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In a back-and-forth game, Santa Clara came away with a 10-9 win over San Jose State on Tuesday night.
There was a total of six lead changes on the night. Each time the Spartans (26-23) scored, the Broncos (24-22) responded and never trailed after a full inning.
The scoring started right away as both teams scored two in the first and one in the second. Santa Clara responded with one in the third before San Jose State got two in the top of the fourth and retook the lead. A four-spot in the bottom of the fourth for the Broncos stretched the lead to 8-5 but the Sparts had an answer, scoring three times in the top of the sixth to once again bring things even.
