DAVIS, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball ended up with a split of a doubleheader at UC Davis on Saturday. The Broncos (3-3) took game one 12-2 but the Aggies (3-3) pitching dominated game two in a 4-0 defeat.
GAME 1 Four runs in the first two innings, highlighted by back-to-back home runs by Efrain Manzo and Robert Hipwell in the second, got the Broncos offense going. Santa Clara would then add three more in the eighth and five in the ninth to pull away.
Early and late offense led the way for the Santa Clara offense in the first game of the day.
