SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball re-opened the newly renovated Schott Stadium with an exciting game that saw some late inning heroics lead to a 10-6 win over San Diego on Friday.
With two down and two on in the bottom of the eight and the score tied at six, the Broncos (12-5, 3-1 WCC) used three straight hits, including two-run doubles from Efrain Manzo and JonJon Berring, to take the lead for good.
Manzo had a big game, finishing with two hits, four RBIs, and two runs scored and Berring was a home run shy of the cycle.
