SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Solid pitching combined with timely hitting was the recipe for Santa Clara baseball's 9-0 win over UC Davis on Tuesday night's nonconference game.
Santa Clara (4-18) starter Locke Bernhardt threw five no-hit innings and along with four relievers combined for a one hit shutout against the Aggies (6-11).
Offensively, the Broncos got 13 base hits and were 8-for-11 with runners in scoring position as six different batters drove in runs led by Cameron Allie's (2-for-5, 3 RBIs) career-high three RBIs.
In his first career start as a Bronco, the junior college transfer allowed three walks and one hit batsman while striking out two.
