SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Washington collected 17 hits to beat Santa Clara baseball, 11-1 on a wet Monday afternoon at Stephen Schott Stadium.
Washington (16-15), who advanced to the 2018 College World Series, jumped on Santa Clara starter Locke Bernhardt (2-2) early, scoring five runs on four hits in the first inning. Along with a hot wielding bat, the Huskies took advantage of nine walks issued by the Broncos pitching staff along with three fielding errors to put up 11 runs but with only four of them earned.
Huskies right-fielder Connor Blair went 5-for-5 with two RBIs to lead five players with multiple hits and four players with two runs batted in.
