SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball finished its three-game sweep of San Francisco with a 7-4 victory Sunday afternoon.
The win was the Broncos' (27-15, 13-8 WCC) ninth in a row, giving them their longest streak since a 16-game stretch from April 11-May 2, 1997. It was the first sweep of San Francisco since 2003 and the first home sweep since 2002, making it the first at Stephen Schott Stadium which opened in 2005.
The streak looked like it might be in trouble in the sixth inning. Jared Feikes was cruising with a 2-0 lead having retired 14 batters in a row before two Dons (16-26, 7-17 WCC) reached and Harris Williams III cracked a three-run home run to go ahead.
