NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Isaiah Nunez stymied the Santa Clara baseball lineup and CSUN scored in four of the first five innings to beat the Broncos, 7-2 on Sunday in the nonconference series finale.
Isaiah Nunez tossed seven innings, allowed four hits and one run while five different Matadors drove in runs.
Against Santa Clara starter Holden Bernhardt, who was making his first career start, Victor Cerny (2-for-2, 2 R, RBI) hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second to give CSUN a 1-0 lead.
The Matadors (12-13) added a run in the third, two more runs in the fourth on three extra base hits and three runs in the fifth including a bases loaded two-RBI single by Andrew Lucas (1-for-3, 2 RBIs).
