SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Jake MacNichols homered twice as part of a 22-hit attack to power Santa Clara baseball past San Jose State 18-4 to claim a series sweep on Sunday afternoon at Stephen Schott Stadium.
For the second straight game, every Bronco hitter in the starting lineup collected a base hit with eight of them getting multiple hits. Connor Henriques and Austin Reyes paced the Broncos going 4-for-5 each while MacNichols went 3-for-5 with a career-high five RBIs.
MacNichols got the ball rolling for the Broncos offense with a two-run home run against SJSU starter Trevor Allen in the first inning to put the Broncos up 2-0.
