SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball's attempt at a sweep came up short in a 4-2 loss in 10 innings to LMU on Sunday afternoon.
In the top of the 10th, the Lions (7-15-1, 4-2 WCC) got the first two on via a hit-by-pitch and a walk. The runners were on second and third with two down when G Weiss' grounder up the middle was fielded cleanly but the throw was wide and both runners came across.
Weiss had a big day at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with a run scored. Cole Roberts also added a pair of hits and an RBI.
