LAS VEGAS – For the first time in program history, Santa Clara baseball has won a game at the West Coast Conference Tournament. The Broncos took down Gonzaga for the fourth game in a row by a final of 4-2 to advance to the double elimination portion of the tournament. The full schedule can be found here.
Pitching led the way for both teams but it was a pair of home runs for Santa Clara (32-18) that proved to be the difference. Coleman Brigman got the scoring going in the fourth with a two-run home run and Ben Steck added a solo shot in the seventh to make it 3-0.
